Cocciopesto Montepulciano d’Abruzzo DOCG is a distinctive natural red wine that combines traditional Italian, more closely Abruzzo winemaking with a contemporary low-intervention approach. Crafted and aged in cocciopesto amphorae, it offers a pure and expressive reflection of its terroir.
It displays an intense ruby red colour with violet hues. The nose is generous and expressive, revealing aromas of forest fruits such as blackberry, blueberry and blackcurrant, complemented by subtle balsamic notes. On the palate, it is complex and fruit-driven, with vibrant freshness and a remarkably persistent finish. A wine of excellent structure and balance.
The grapes undergo 10–15 days of skin maceration, followed by spontaneous fermentation using native yeasts in cocciopesto amphorae. The wine is then aged for 12 months in amphora before being decanted and bottled ללא filtration. Bottle ageing continues for a further 6 months.
